Motor energy figures kept with the replacement decision

Here, the calculator is free and the result is gone when you close the page. In Reglova, it is attached to the work order on the right machine: you find it again at the next breakdown, and on audit day.

The CMMS software comparison, our gaps included
  • Attached to the work order with its inputs: the server recalculates it, it stays verifiable.
  • On the technician's phone, even without a network.
  • In the machine's history, for the next breakdown.
  • The asset's nameplate data pre-fills the calculation.

Silent video, 33 s: from the work order for an oil leak on a shear cylinder, the tightening torque of an M12 bolt, then "Attach to the work order". A step to tighten it to 93.1 N·m lands in the checklist (step text from the French demo data). Watch the video

When to compare motor energy costs

  1. 01

Choose between rewinding a burnt-out motor and replacing it with a more efficient one.

  2. 02

Rank the site's motors by energy cost to choose which to replace first.

  3. 03

Justify an investment with its payback time.

Good to know

Enter the power actually delivered to the machine, not the nameplate rating: an oversized motor runs below its rated power, and its efficiency drops at low load.

Motor energy formula and IE efficiency classes

A motor running all year costs far more in electricity than to buy. The calculator gives the annual energy use, E = P/η·h, its cost at the kWh price you enter, and the savings from a higher-efficiency motor (IE classes of IEC 60034-30-1).

Formula · Reference documents

E = P/η·h ; cost = E·price ; savings = P·h·(1/η − 1/η′)
