Shaft and hole tolerances written on the work order
Here, the calculator is free and the result is gone when you close the page. In Reglova, it is attached to the work order on the right machine: you find it again at the next breakdown, and on audit day.
The CMMS software comparison, our gaps included- Attached to the work order with its inputs: the server recalculates it, it stays verifiable.
- On the technician's phone, even without a network.
- In the machine's history, for the next breakdown.
- The asset's nameplate data pre-fills the calculation.

When you need ISO 286 fit tolerances
01
Check a worn shaft with a micrometer before refitting a bearing or a gear.
02
Choose the tolerance for a shaft to be re-machined.
03
Read a drawing without looking up the standard's tables.
Good to know
A negative minimum clearance is an interference. For a bearing, the shaft tolerance depends on the load and the direction of rotation: follow the manufacturer's catalogue.
ISO 286 limit deviations and clearance
For a nominal diameter up to 500 mm and a pair of tolerance classes (H7/g6, H7/k6, H7/p6…), the calculator gives the upper and lower deviations of the hole and the shaft in micrometres, the maximum and minimum clearance, and says whether the fit is a clearance, transition or interference fit.
Formula · Reference documents
Hole H: EI = 0, ES = IT ; shaft: es or ei from the fundamental deviation, the other at ± IT ; max clearance = ES − ei, min clearance = EI − es
